Northeast Youth Center Food Programs
Good nutrition is essential for effective learning every day, all year long. Children who aren’t hungry learn better, act better, and feel better. Our feeding programs helps children get the nutrition they need to learn, play, and grow throughout the year.
Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) School Year Program
In February of 2013 the Northeast Youth Center began participating in the CACFP which provides a nutritious evening meal to children as a regular part of their day during care. The CACFP reimburses centers at free, reduced-price, or paid rates for eligible meals and snacks served to enrolled children, targeting benefits to those children most in need.
USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) Summer Program
In June of 2013 the Northeast Youth Center began participating in the SFSP which provides a nutritious lunch and afternoon snack for the children in the community during the summer. This program is essential to continue to provide the children in our neighborhood with the proper nutrition they need to grow and be successful in life.
